The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for an Electronic Technician A, Cal Lab to support our government customer located in Kekaha, Hawai'i.

Individual shall be capable of performing calibrations on all types of Physical/Mechanical and Electronic/Electrical M&TE in accordance with the Navy Metrology Program Guidelines. Assist the Lab Technicians with problems they may encounter during calibrations. Assist with troubleshooting and repair as required on all types of M&TE. Assist with assessing use of calibration equipment.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accurately performs tests, measurements and calibrations using approved calibration standards and procedures.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs all types of M&TE to the component level.
  • Accurately enters all required calibration and repair data onto Metrology Equipment Recall and Report (METER) cards and other hard copy records.
  • Follows documented calibration processes and calibration procedures and ensures all standards meet specifications required by approved calibration procedures.
  • Follows good laboratory practices.
  • Observes required workload stabilization times, ensures the laboratory environment is within required limits at the beginning and end of all calibrations.
  • Responsible for the care of Government equipment, tools, property, materials and assures that they are properly maintained and safeguarded.
  • Strives for excellent customer service.
  • Abide by company work and safety rules.
  • Enforces and maintains company's 5S objectives.
  • Performs other duties are assigned by the supervisor or Lead Technician.

Office conditions are varied and include physical tasks including lifting, pushing or pulling over 25-50 pounds (with a 2-person assist). Physical positions will include but not be limited to walking, standing or sitting for extended periods of time, and crawling, kneeling or cramped work, requiring repeated stooping. The environment will include customer contact, extended workdays, in a confined work area of an office laboratory with an electronics shop environment. Must be able to work in sub-floor areas and crawl spaces in performing calibrations and troubleshooting tasks.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

Two (2) year technical school or equivalent training such as electronic school or Military "A" school TACAN maintenance or electronics or equivalent.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Ten (10) years progressive experience in a related field with a minimum of five (5) years experience in the specific field of assignment.
  • Possess fundamental knowledge of basic electronics both RF and Digital, and Physical/Dimensional calibration theory and applications.
  • Possess working knowledge of electronics theory and be proficient in reading and interpreting complicated schematic diagrams for troubleshooting and repair to the component level.
  • Must be able to use, apply and understand complex test and measuring equipment.
  • Must possess the following PC skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Access, Windows

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • NAVAIR or NAVSEA Calibration Lab experience
  • RF communications experience

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Secret security clearance is required. (Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.)
