Job Summary
Lamplight Farms, home of the TIKI Brand, is seeking a motivated, hands-on Quality Engineer to play an integral role in driving a culture of continuous improvement and learning. This position will be a critical team member on our New Product Development (NPD) team, playing a key role supporting Production, Warehousing, and Distribution, and have the opportunity to make a global impact through interaction with our international team and supply chain.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Quality representative on the New Product Development (NPD) Team to own and manage new product qualifications through the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
- Conduct and monitor product and component testing, document procedures, test results, and relevant quality data.
- Lead key risk mitigation activities such as FMEA and Product Integrity Committee reviews.
- Capture and analyze product complaints, customer field data, and reported defects to identify emerging risks, determine root causes, and deploy corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead and support domestic and global quality initiatives, ensuring alignment with internal standards and customer expectations.
- Collaborate with suppliers and global team to identify and resolve non-conformance issues and monitor preventive and corrective actions through Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Deviations, and Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) processes.
- Maintain product documentation, including test methods, inspection plans, and work instructions.
- Track and report on key quality metrics to identify trends and opportunities for process or product improvements that impact overall Cost of Quality.
- Continuously collect and report quality measures to monitor and improve production processes, products, and service performance; maintain records and statistical models.
- Provide quality support to production and warehouse operations, including process troubleshooting and improvement implementation.
- Drive global quality initiatives by coordinating quality projects across domestic and international teams, facilitating effective communication with global teams, suppliers, and technical partners.
- Gatekeeper of document control process and records for procedures, test methods, inspection plans, forms, work instructions, and others.
- Other duties as deemed necessary to support the business.
Qualification Requirements
Minimum Education:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
Minimum Work Experience: Minimum (2) years of experience in quality engineering, quality improvement, or a related manufacturing environment.
License(s) / Certification(s): ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, DOE, Process Mapping, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) (e.g., 8D).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, statistical analysis tools, and project management systems.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments and interpretation of technical drawings.
- Strong technical and non-technical writing abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication with cross-functional and international teams at all organizational levels.
- Ability to effectively articulate information or ideas in group or one-on-one settings.
- Adaptable, analytical, and detail-oriented, with strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt and learn new skills and concepts to support business needs.
- Results oriented with a sense of urgency and forward thinking.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to work with moderate to little supervision.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
