Pacific Life's technology organization is seeking a talented Senior AI Platform Engineer exclusively focused on delivering enterprise-grade AI solutions to join the Enablement AI Platform team at either the Newport Beach, CA or Omaha, NE office.Relocation Assistance may be provided. You will work closely with our Solution Architect and cross-functional stakeholders to implement scalable, secure, and high-performing AI products. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about translating architectural vision into working solutions.

How You'll Help Us Move Forward

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI solutions that drive business value and innovation.

  • Partner with the Solution Architect and stakeholders to iterate on designs, provide feedback, and ensure alignment with business goals.

  • Build and maintain integrations across enterprise systems, focusing on AI Gateway and orchestration layers.

  • Leverage MuleSoft and other integration tools to connect AI solutions with existing platforms and services.

  • Participate in AI use case review and approval processes, providing input on solutions and reusability.

  • Develop and implement best practices for testing AI products, including performance, data quality, model testing, and evaluation for biases and vulnerabilities.

  • Help evolve the AI platform by identifying opportunities for automation, performance improvements, and operational efficiency.

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

The Experience You Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in technology, with a focus on AI and machine learning.

  • Proven experience in AI-related product solution analysis and testing in cloud environments.

  • Experience with integration services, particularly MuleSoft.

  • Familiarity with modern AI design patterns such as RAG, agentic frameworks, and multi-component pipelines.

  • Proficiency in coding languages such as Python, Java, C++, or similar.

  • Experience with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, and their AI/ML services.

  • Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams and collaborating with architects and product owners.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Demonstrated ability to lead the execution of strategy and technical direction for AI platforms.

  • Experience in the insurance or financial services industry.

  • Experience in architecting and evolving AI platforms that drive business value across global operations.

  • Experience leading and mentoring a team of Engineers

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • A track record of successful AI solution deployments and the ability to drive adoption across teams.

  • Knowledge of the latest AI trends and technologies, and a passion for staying up-to-date with industry advancements.

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$134,280.00 - $164,120.00
