The Production Trainer and Safety Lead has responsibility for our organization's Training and Safety Programs, ensuring all of our employees are equipped to do their job safely and effectively.

  • Ability to understand manufacturing processes and the operation of production machinery
  • An enthusiasm for working in a manufacturing environment and getting your hands dirty; this position spends 80%+ of their time on the plant floor


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Coordinates and administers all new hire and ongoing training.
  • Administers assessments of new hire training progress after designated periods.
  • Assists production leads to help underperformers improve and succeed.
  • Assists with creating, maintaining and updating work instructions/SOPs for all positions and processes.
  • Works with Department Heads to identify & improve training program.
  • Improves systems, processes and procedures to increase effectiveness.
  • Develops and maintains training documents, job aids, and presentations.
  • Develops and maintains a training database for completed training of employees.
  • Build and implement a Facility Safety Program that adheres to applicable OSHA Requirements.
  • Develops processes and procedures for continuous compliance with all safety regulations and internal safety policies on a daily basis.
  • Writes and builds manuals regarding plant safety compliance.
  • Gathers, analyzes, and summarizes injury and incident data. Reviews Incident Investigation Reports generated at the specific site. Responsible for driving improvements in the Incident Investigation processes.
  • Conducts safety briefings and ensure company safety policies and safe work practice are clearly communicated to employees.
  • Discusses immediate safety and performance issues with supervisor.
  • Conducts comprehensive incident investigations for all serious events. Assists to develop actions and ensures lessons learned are communicated and implemented.


POSITION DEMANDS:



  • Standing and walking up to 10 hours.
  • Lifting and carrying 25 to 50 lbs.
  • Continually bending, stooping, twisting, using arms, wrists and hands (including grasping and squeezing) throughout shift.
  • Occasionally kneeling, reaching above the shoulder, working at heights and climbing steps.
  • The ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as required by operation or maintenance needs.
