Senior Design Engineer - Drive Innovation in Aerospace & Defense

Hours & Compensation

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 (up to $125,000 for the ideal candidate)

Employment Type: Direct hire

What You'll Do Each Day



  • Lead mechanical design efforts for machined parts and brazed assemblies using Creo CAD tools.
  • Develop robust, lightweight, and efficient designs that meet aerospace and defense standards.
  • Define and optimize brazed joint designs for high-temperature applications.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and materials teams to ensure cost-effective, manufacturable designs.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, BOMs, specifications, and test plans.
  • Perform FEA and tolerance analysis to validate designs under structural, thermal, and vibrational conditions.
  • Lead design reviews, support root cause investigations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
  • Partner with customers and suppliers on design intent and technical requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant aerospace industry regulations and standards.

What We're Looking For



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering field.
  • 7+ years of experience in aerospace/defense mechanical design.
  • Expertise in precision machining, tight tolerances, and high-temperature brazed joints.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and CNC machining processes.
  • Proficiency with CAD (Creo preferred), CAM (Esprit), and FEA tools.
  • Familiarity with AS9100, ITAR, and aerospace customer specifications.
  • Experience in designing vacuum or dip brazing processes.
  • Knowledge of heat transfer and thermal stress analysis.
  • Background in defense contracting or working with DoD primes (e.g., Raytheon, Lockheed Martin).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
