ROLE SUMMARY

Works in our warehouse to provide support to our transportation and warehouse departments. This person will complete shipments in SAP, group, and post orders/routes, print invoices and truck delivery reports, coordinate LTL and CCN delivery and pick up. Perform routing utilizing Telogis, our TMS system. Contacts customers with delivery issues, process delivery paperwork and run daily reports. Will also release and assign orders using SAP and our warehouse management system and assist with receiving paperwork.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS


  • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
    • Monitoring picking assignment queue and assign orders to warehouse associates as needed.
    • Monitor shorts screen and assign replenishments as necessary.
    • Work with pickers to resolve minor issues with the Vocollect equipment.
    • Communicate in a professional manner.
    • Create shipments and release orders in SAP for the Milwaukee Distribution Center.
    • PGI orders in SAP and Prelude. Print invoices and combine paperwork into driver packets. Create and print proof of Delivery reports and Bills of Lading.
    • Load customer orders to Vocollect from Prelude. Print invoices and consolidation/loading reports.
    • Prepare Bills of Lading for common carrier shipments.
    • Print the Preliminary Routing Report to assist with route evaluation and loading.
    • Communicate any delivery issues with the customer service department and Hill's.
    • Process driver paperwork; including scanning delivery receipts into Laserfische and forwarding paperwork to the appropriate department.
    • Handle inquiries from warehouse personnel regarding inventory and other warehouse-related inquiries.
    • Regular attendance and onsite presence.
    • Responsible for following AIB and GDP requirements while performing daily operational functions/duties.
    • Contact carriers for daily pickups.
    • Sort, complete and file all driver paperwork.
    • Prepare letters, memos and correspondence for distribution to personnel as requested by management.


    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Excellent clerical skills including typing, 10-key for data entry and filing.
    • 1 year of previous clerical experience.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to read, write and speak English.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and able to work with people at all levels of the organization in a professional manner.
    • Must be well organized, able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
    • Flexible and able to adapt to a changing work environment. Must be able to work overtime as needed.
    • Able to use and operate general office equipment including 10-key calculator, copy machine, fax machine, printer and phone.
    • Knowledge and experience in using computers and programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel, and Lotus Notes.
    • Able to work at a computer and sit for extended periods of time (3-4 hours). Position also requires frequent walking due to interaction with all departments and employees.
    • Able to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Related experience is important, including distribution/inventory experience.
  • Good knowledge for Freight classifications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Strong people skills and able to collaborate with people at all levels of the organization in a professional manner.
  • Must be well organized, able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical skills and the desire to make things right.
  • Must be proficient in the following applications WMS, EXCEL, and SAP
  • Must be able to work independently, with minimum of supervision.
  • Work overtime on short notice; position requires working until the job is complete.
  • Able to work at a computer and sit for extended periods of time (3-4 hours). Position also requires frequent walking due to interaction with all departments and employees.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random testing throughout employment.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Work Hours & Starting Pay (Full-time)

Night Shift: Mon-Fri, 7:00pm-3:30am ($18.00 - $21.00 based on experience) + $2.00 per hour shift premium
