CLA is seeking a professional to perform independent testing and review of complex models designed to monitor and mitigate money laundering risk. This Anti-Money Laundering Validation Analyst role requires deep expertise in anti-money laundering (AML) practices, fraud detection, and regulatory compliance across financial institutions.

The ideal candidate will guide client engagements, manage deadlines and budgets, and communicate key findings to leadership. You'll apply statistical and machine learning methods to evaluate AML models and systems, ensuring alignment with regulatory guidance including SR 11-7, FDIC FIL 22-2017, OCC 2011-12, and the Interagency Statement on Model Risk Management (2021).

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform model validation engagements, AML system assessments, and data analysis.
  • Perform independent model reviews, monitoring oversight, and peer evaluations.
  • Assess governance activities including model approval and breach remediation.
  • Direct client-focused modeling projects from strategy to execution.
  • Communicate with modeling teams, internal audit, and external regulators.
  • Draft technical reports for client management and governance.
  • Act as a senior in analytic/quantitative modeling techniques used for AML.
  • Support AML system implementation and data transformation efforts.
  • Maintain working knowledge of BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, OFAC, and AML technologies.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience with AML models and systems.
  • Strong familiarity with AML techniques, typologies, and industry practices.
  • Experience with financial services data source systems, data management, and data integration principles.
  • Solid understanding of banking data.
  • Degree in a quantitative field (Math, Physics, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics).
  • Fluency in Alteryx (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Python, SAS, and SQL (preferred).
  • CAMS certification (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging stakeholders across technical levels.

Factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and knowledge may impact position of pay within the range. These same factors may cause starting pay to be below or above the posted range.

The wage range inMinnesota is 82,313.00 - 123,470.00 USD
