Maersk Brokerage is seeking a highly competent, knowledgeable, and dedicated Drayage Specialist to join our team as a Transportation Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to both internal and external clients and carriers. Your in-depth knowledge of company products and programs, coupled with effective communication and team management skills, will be essential to your success.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a high-performing drayage and logistics team, providing clear direction, coaching, and performance management to achieve operational and financial goals.
  • Oversee carrier relationships with a strategic focus on drayage services, leveraging deep knowledge of port operations to drive efficiency, service quality, and cost savings.
  • Utilize data and financial analysis to monitor shipment performance, identify cost drivers, and implement strategies that improve profitability, resource allocation, and KPI achievement.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing customer claims, ensuring timely resolution, accurate billing, and maintaining strong customer satisfaction.
  • Accountability for the financial health and performance of all assigned customer accounts, including monitoring profitability, cost controls, and growth opportunities
  • Resolve freight, billing, and operational issues by applying advanced problem-solving skills and engaging cross-functional teams, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish and maintain strong communication channels with carriers, clients, and internal leadership, aligning business objectives and fostering collaboration across all levels.
  • Direct the scheduling of pick-up and delivery appointments, leveraging data insights to optimize fleet capacity, labor utilization, and service reliability.
  • Regularly review operational metrics and financial reports to identify trends, manage budgets, and guide decision-making that supports both short- and long-term business growth.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in Drayage, Logistics, or Transportation, with demonstrated success managing teams and driving results through performance metrics and financial oversight.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze data, manage budgets, and influence cost efficiency while maintaining high service standards.
  • Proven track record in the Logistics/Trucking industry, showcasing your ability to navigate the intricacies of drayage and deliver exceptional results.
  • Comprehensive understanding of port operations, drayage, brokerage, and supply chain management, with the ability to translate expertise into strategic execution.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, enabling effective collaboration with carriers, clients, and senior leadership.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) with strong data analysis skills; experience with TMS, broker platforms, and online carrier tools preferred.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Proven track record of setting, monitoring, and exceeding KPIs while ensuring compliance and operational excellence.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred
  • Extensive experience with North American ports and shipyards, offering strategic insight into complex logistical environments.
  • Previous experience working with Broker platforms/TMS and Online Carrier Tools and Resources, leveraging technology to optimize operations and deliver exceptional service.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills with the ability to deliver favorable business outcomes.

Pay Range:

$70K-$75K

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
