Qualifications
Minimum Education
Completion of a five year pharmacy program in an accredited college of pharmacy. (Required)
Minimum Work Experience 1 year Pharmacy experience (Required)
Functional Accountabilities Medication Processing
- Interpret medication orders, profile orders and oversee the packaging, labeling and distribution of medications.
Drug Intervention and Education
Perform drug therapy monitoring and intervene as necessary on drug dosing, drug administration, drug interactions, side-effects and monitoring issues; complete therapeutic drug monitoring consults and adverse drug reaction reports as assigned.
- Must maintain proficiencies in medication handling (including hazardous medications), compounding sterile/non-sterile preparation(s) and completing quality assurance checks per standard operating procedures and policies in compliance with USP <795>, <797> and <800> guidelines.
Supervision/Training
- Assist with the education, training and general supervision of Pharmacy Residents, Students and Technicians.
Safety
- Attend carefully to important details - practicing Stop, Think, Act and Review in order to self-check behavior and performance
