About the role:

As a eVinci Fuel Engineering Intern you will be working on eVinci micro-reactor high-fidelity neutronics modeling and uncertainty quantification. The specific goal/objective of this phase is to apply the fission matrix core analysis methodology developed at ANL to the Westinghouse eVinci microreactor and compare results with other high-fidelity simulation techniques.

You will report to the eVince Fuels Technical manager and be located at our Etna location. This is a paid full-time hybrid position during the summer.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply the fission matrix approach to the eVinci microreactor
  • Train on reactor physics, microreactor technologies, and methods development
  • Exposure to the work of other research units within the larger division
  • Daily activity will consist of computer modeling and method development


Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering with a focus in materials science or a related discipline
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Complete at least sophomore year of undergraduate studies
  • Experience with material properties and behavior, including mechanical, thermal, and chemical characteristics



We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $22.69 to $27.50 per hour.
