The Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the Metabolic Clinic provides comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals with metabolic conditions such as obesity, metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance, Type 2 diabetes, dyslipidemia, metabolic dysfunction associated liver disease, and other co-morbidities related to obesity. The NP works collaboratively with physicians, dietitians, behavioral health providers, and other team members to support patients in lifestyle modification, chronic disease management, medication therapy, and preventive care. Essential Responsibilities * Conduct detailed assessments including history, physical exams, and ordering/interpreting diagnostic tests relevant to metabolic conditions. * Develop individualized treatment and care plans that address weight management, nutrition, physical activity, and pharmacologic interventions. * Prescribe medications and manage therapies for weight loss, glycemic control, lipid management, and related issues. * Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and provide patient education on lifestyle interventions and self-management. * Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including Endocrinologists, Gastroenterologist, Cardiologists, Bariatric Surgeons, primary care providers, registered dietitians, and behavioral health specialists. * Provide follow-up care both in-person and via telehealth as needed. * Document all encounters accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record (EMR). * Participate in clinical quality improvement efforts, population health initiatives, and metabolic program development. * Stay current on best practices, clinical guidelines, and emerging therapies in the management of metabolic disorders. Qualifications * Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. * Current NP license and certification (FNP, ANP, or AGNP preferred). * Prescriptive authority and DEA registration. * BLS certification (ACLS preferred). * Strong communication, patient engagement, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills. *Previous experience with obesity management is a plus.
