Job Description Summary |
The Department of History, Politics, and Law at Nazareth University of Rochester invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Legal Studies. The Legal Studies major has been an area of growth for the university and we have multiple successful 3+3 articulation agreements with regional law schools. The successful candidate will be an important contributor to that growth and continued success.
The area of specialization is open but the successful candidate will teach introductory courses in the legal studies program, such as Introduction to Law, as well as upper-level electives in the areas of the candidate's expertise. Preference will be given to candidates prepared to teach in the following areas: civil rights or human rights law, immigration law, labor and employment law, evidence, and criminal & civil procedure. The successful candidate will also advise legal studies majors and minors.
Applicants for this position must have earned a J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and be an admitted member of the bar in the United States. The candidate will also have experience practicing law. Preference will be given to applicants who also have: a Ph.D. or master's degree in a related discipline or an L.L.M./Master's of Law.
Applicants should have prior teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level. Applicants should also have a proven record of teaching excellence and success in working with diverse populations of students. The successful candidate will have the position of Assistant Professor in Legal Studies.
