Responsibilities

Join the State Farm intern team to gain real-world experience in accounting and financial analysis. We are seeking motivated and driven interns to join our dynamic Financial Operations department for an exciting internship experience. Individuals selected for the internship will get the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and collaborate across multiple teams in Financial Operations while gaining impactful hands-on learning opportunities at a Fortune 50 company!

While developing your professional talents by completing challenging work assignments during the internship, you will be generating and influencing business results. You'll have the opportunity to participate in events learning about the insurance business, State Farm, various business functions, and more as you develop throughout the summer. Duties and Responsibilities:

During the internship, you will work on a wide range of projects across multiple teams, gaining exposure to different areas of our Financial Operations team.

You may have the opportunity to:

* Perform research and analysis of financial information and contribute to strategic decision-making processes

* Communicate financial information and analysis and explain complex topics to help the audience make informed decisions

* Review the effectiveness and efficiency of financial, operational, risk management, and compliance control systems by completing audit assignments

* Interpret and evaluate compliance with external reporting requirements and accounting guidance

* Compile, prepare, and analyze forecasts, financial statements, and reports to enable informed decision-making and identify trends and impacts

* Identify and implement process enhancements to allow for greater efficiency and analysis

* Present business insights and recommendations to leadership

Intern work topics may include:

* Financial statement preparation and analysis

* Statutory accounting concepts

* Financial results reporting and forecasting

* Tax filing and planning

* Researching regulations and potential impacts

* Implementing process enhancements

* Cash flow forecasting and insights

* Internal audits and financial controls

* Enterprise planning and budget analysis

* Cost/benefit analysis

* Competitor and industry trend analysis

Summer Internship Dates: 6/1/2025 -8/1/2025

Hours: Monday-Friday, 38.75 hours per week

Due to the short duration of the summer program, it is an expectation that hired interns will be available for the duration of the summer internship with little to no disruption in work schedule.

Pay: $28.00/hr. In addition, interns selected for our summer internship program will be eligible for a $2,000 stipend!

Work Arrangement: Selected interns should plan to spend time working from home and some time working in the office as part of our hybrid work environment. Please note that relocation benefits will not apply.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

* Minimum GPA of 3.5 out of 4.0 (overall and in major)

* Pursuing degree in Accounting

* Must be enrolled in at least one course through the completion of the internship and preferred completion of degree pathway and employment eligible within one year of the internship

* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including advanced formulas and automation techniques

* Strong written and verbal communication

* Learning agility and adaptability to work across multiple teams

* Teamwork

* Critical thinking and analytical problem solving

* Initiative and curious mindset
