Now, we're entering a new phase of growth and are looking for a Compliance Officer to develop, implement and enforce procedures and policies to ensure the organization's compliance with industry and government regulations, defense contract requirements, and aviation standards. Provide candid, concise, and principled counsel to every echelon of the organization and play a key role in supporting our compliance and security programs. What You'll Do
- Assist the Senior Director of Compliance & FSO in executing compliance policies, internal controls, and regulatory frameworks.
- Monitor and support compliance with FAA Part 107 and other small UAS regulations.
- Assist with ITAR and EAR compliance, including product classification, licensing, and technology control planning.
- Support compliance with FAR/DFARS, DoD cybersecurity (CMMC, NIST 800-171), and facility security requirements.
- Review supply chain for economic sanctions laws and regulations implemented by the U.S. Department on the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC); and global equivalents
- Conduct compliance risk assessments and internal audits to recognize areas where the company might be vulnerable to non-compliance; track corrective actions to closure.
- Deliver and coordinate training programs on compliance, export control, cybersecurity, and ethics.
- Maintain compliance records and assist in preparing reports for leadership, auditors, and regulators.
- Support engagement with federal agencies, customers, and auditors in collaboration with the Senior Director of Compliance & FSO.
- Promote ethics, accountability, and compliance across the company.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
- Relevant professional certifications like Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) credentials preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in compliance, law, ethics, regulatory affairs, or risk management (aerospace, defense, or technology industry preferred).
- Knowledge of:
- FAA Part 107 and UAS regulations
- ITAR/EAR export control regulations
- DFARS, DoD cybersecurity requirements (CMMC, NIST 800-171)
- Facility security standards (preferred but not required)
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a lean company environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to train and advise staff at all levels.
- High ethical standards and discretion with sensitive information.
- Occasional travel required for audits, training, or regulatory meetings.
Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, and move about regularly throughout the day and lift / carry up to 25 pounds. Must have manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment. Must be physically capable of the duties outlined. Work Environment- This position operates primarily in a professional office environment with occasional work in a manufacturing setting. It requires the use of standard office equipment and systems. This role involves cross-departmental collaboration and both independent and team-based responsibilities. Standard work hours for this position are 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime or off-hour work as business needs arise. ITAR Requirement In compliance with International Traffic Arms Regulations (ITAR), candidates must be U.S. Citizens, U.S. Permanent Residents (Green Card holders) or individuals granted asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
