We're actively seeking a talented Sr. Systems Analyst I to join our IT Product Development Team in the Institutional Division in Newport Beach, CA. As a Senior Systems Analyst I, you will advance both Pacific Life and your career by connecting IT with various business units, converting intricate requirements into scalable and effective system solutions. You will take the lead in and provide support for comprehensive product launches, utilizing your strong analytical abilities, industry knowledge, and agile experience to achieve significant results-especially in the areas of Finance, Fintech, or Insurance. In this role as Senior Systems Analyst I, you will be part of a team of five within the Institutional division. Your teammates will include developers and data scientists dedicated to enhancing the application portfolio and developing new products to assist sales, operations, marketing, accounting, and other functional teams. How you'll help move us forward:
- Strong background in business process analysis and gathering detailed system requirements.
- Proven ability to serve as a bridge between IT development teams and business stakeholders.
- Skilled at breaking down complex business problems into actionable functional and technical specifications, with practical and scalable solution recommendations.
- Hands-on experience in system configuration and all phases of testing (unit, integration, and acceptance).
- Working knowledge of Salesforce CRM-familiar with navigation, object relationships, and business process integration.
- Proficient in data mapping and integrating data across legacy systems, cloud platforms, and third-party tools.
- Highly self-sufficient; able to manage multiple priorities with minimal oversight.
- Experienced in creating clear documentation, delivering impactful presentations, and translating technical concepts for business users.
- Fast learner with a proactive attitude, ready to adapt and contribute in high-change, fast-paced environments.
The experience you bring:
- 5-7 years of hands-on experience as a Business Systems Analyst or in a comparable analytical/technical role.
- Proven track record in Finance, Fintech, or Insurance environments-understanding of industry-specific processes, challenges, and regulatory considerations.
- Educational foundation in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Finance-or equivalent practical experience.
- Solid experience working within Agile and Scrum methodologies, actively contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily standups.
- Comfortable with industry-standard tools, including ERP systems, financial modeling platforms, and claims processing systems.
- Familiarity with SQL, data analysis tools, and process mapping software-with the ability to translate data insights into actionable recommendations.

The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location.
