The Tax Compliance and Technology Intern will be an integral part of the CEI Tax Department (50+ people), collaborating closely with the Tax & Technology teams to support and improve tax processes through technology. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with a team of experienced tax professionals and gain hands-on experience in tax technology and federal compliance within a leading corporate tax department.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation, enhancement and maintenance of tax technology solutions that support tax compliance processes
  • Work with data analytics tools such as Microsoft Power Query and Power BI to transform and visualize tax data for review and analysis
  • Participate in the preparation of federal income tax returns and related workpapers
  • Collaborate with tax team members to improve federal compliance process efficiency through technology-driven solutions
  • Support the preparation of process documentation and user guides for tax technology tools
  • Participate in data collection, analysis, and reporting to support tax initiatives


Preferred Skills:

  • Working knowledge of accounting and tax concepts
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments in a team environment in-person and virtually
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to the department's technology initiatives


Requirements:

  • Student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or Taxation.
  • GPA of 3.2 or higher
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Demonstrated interest in technology and process improvement


USD 21.49 - 32.26 per hour

Compensation:

Hourly base pay rate is $21.49 - $32.26/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
