Consult Liaison Clinical Faculty - Bridgeport Hospital
Position Summary: Bridgeport Hospital is seeking a compassionate and collaborative physician to join our team as a Consult Liaison Clinical Faculty member. This role combines consultative psychiatric or medical expertise with teaching responsibilities and institutional service, contributing to our mission of delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities:
Consult Liaison Service:
- Provide consultative care to hospitalized patients, addressing complex medical, psychiatric, or psychosocial needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, holistic care.
- Serve as a liaison between medical teams and behavioral health services, promoting integrated care delivery.
Outpatient Clinical Care & Teaching:
- Attend in the outpatient clinic and precept residents in their continuity clinics, supporting their clinical education and professional growth.
Inpatient Responsibilities:
- Serve on the General Medicine (Team Care) service for several months annually.
- Participate in weeknight and weekend call coverage as assigned by the Chair of Medicine.
Pulmonary Medicine (if applicable):
- Attend on the inpatient Pulmonary Consult Service, supervising Pulmonary Fellows.
- Provide care in the Pulmonary Outpatient Clinic.
Committee Participation:
- Serve on hospital committees as recommended by the Chair, contributing to institutional governance and quality improvement initiatives.

- Provide direct and consulting care to in-patients and/or out-patients.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agency requirements (e.g. JCAHO)
- Review clinical staff performance to ensure quality of care and efficient use of resources.
- Maintain clinical activity by full participation in departmental clinical workload
- Participate in medical staff leadership activities, especially respiratory care and intensive care.
- Prepares for, attends and participates in team meetings and daily huddle
- Collaborates in developing team priorities, patient goals, and care plans
- Keeps problem list, medication list and patient care plan updated for team members Approves orders and referrals for health maintenance
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Completion of the above educational programs
Licensure:
- Licensed to practice medicine in the state of CT.
- ABIM certification as noted above.
Special Skills:
- Demonstrated aptitude and interest in educating medical students, residents and fellows.
Accountability:
- Exhibits qualities that role model excellence in patient care for trainees.
- Provides excellent patient care in all venues
Education
- MD or MBBS; completion of an accredited medicine residency program and pulmonary fellowship program, with board certification in both medicine and pulmonary medicine
Additional Information
Responsible for providing appropriate care to all patients in Northeast Medical Group, as well as leadership, coordination, and administration duties. The Physician leads an interdisciplinary team of caregivers and administrative support staff to perform assigned duties while displaying the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct as well as acting in the best interest of Northeast Medical Group supporting our mission, vision and values to optimize the health and well-being of our patients
