Land Surveying Intern

Loureiro Engineering Associates is seeking a Land Surveying Intern to join our Land Surveying team in Plainville, or Groton CT. This internship offers hands-on experience supporting land surveying and civil site development projects. From your first day, you’ll work alongside experienced surveyors and engineers, applying classroom knowledge to real-world projects that support land development and infrastructure improvements.

This is a paid internship.

This opportunity is ideal for students who are eager to grow their technical skills and gain practical experience in surveying and civil engineering.

• Assist experienced survey field staff with topographic and boundary surveys, route surveys, stream surveys, and construction stakeouts.
• Gain exposure to progressive technology, including robotic total stations, GPS, UAS (drone), and LiDAR scanning.
• Learn to collect survey data and search for boundary evidence while working in a variety of terrain and outdoor conditions.
• Perform physical field tasks such as setting stakes and monuments, clearing brush, and hiking.
• Utilize surveying software to gather, retrieve, and interpret data, and perform basic survey computations.

• Adaptable, reliable, and eager to contribute to meaningful projects.

• Junior, senior, or graduate-level student in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering fundamentals.
• Prior internship experience in land surveying or a related discipline is a plus.
• Physical ability to work outdoors under varying environmental conditions.
• Willingness to travel occasionally as project needs require.
• Valid driver’s license.
