Requisition ID req34620 Working Title Facilities Services Tech Position Grade 07 Position Summary The University of New Mexico (UNM) Residence Life and Student Housing (RLSH) seeks a Facilities Services Tech to play an integral role in providing quality living experience in the residence halls. UNM Residence Life and Student Housing endeavors to foster inclusive, community-based living environments consciously designed for our residents' personal growth and academic success within well-maintained facilities. This position contributes to the department mission by supporting the quality of the living facilities of Residence Life and Student Housing. Under the direct supervision of the department Supervisor of Maintenance, the Facilities Services Techs perform a wide range of facilities tasks including non-technical maintenance of plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilating, and/or air conditioning facilities and equipment, at a level not requiring formal licensure. Duties and Responsibilities of the position include:
a. Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises. b. Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds. c. The work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require the following basic safety precautions. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
