Partial Hospital Services The BHP is grounded in our core commitment to evidence-based, person-centered care. Many individuals attend day programs after an inpatient psychiatric hospital stay or to prevent further worsening of symptoms that could require hospitalization. The program runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, and the typical length of stay is three weeks. Treatment emphasizes group therapy, structure, skill building, medication management, aftercare planning, and family coordination. Each patient undergoes a thorough initial assessment to create a personalized care plan based on specific diagnoses and symptoms, aiming to support stabilization and tailored treatment goals. To maintain treatment continuity, care is also coordinated with outpatient providers, community agencies, and primary care providers as appropriate. The BHP is also home to an extensive clinical research program, with opportunities for research collaboration within and across McLean departments.
