Tax Analyst


Albany's Corporate Finance team is seeking a Tax Analyst who works as part of a team that is responsible for the Global Income Tax Provision prepared in accordance with US GAAP principles.

The company has 2 core businesses, The Machine Clothing (MC) segment -is the world's leading producer of custom-designed fabrics and belts essential to production in the paper, nonwovens, and other process industries and Engineered Composites (EC) is a rapidly growing supplier of highly engineered composite parts for the aerospace industry.



Responsibilities & Key Areas

Tax Analyst Responsibilities:



  • Assist Tax Manager with the preparation of the US Income Tax Provision and supporting documentation for external auditors.
  • Assist Tax Manager with the preparation of manual US tax journal entries as required.
  • Responsible for tax rate analysis surrounding internal financing organization.
  • Assist in the preparation of the SEC 10-Q and 10-K Tax Reporting, including tax footnote.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the SOX documentation related to the US Income Tax Provision.
  • Assist in preparation of annual tax compliance templates and information requests.
  • Responsible for the preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Responsible for reconciling sales and use tax accounts and assist with internal and external audits.
  • Conduct research on tax regulations and assist with nexus studies and taxability analyses for sales and use tax.
  • Special projects, research and duties as assigned.

  • Tax Analyst Requirements:



    • General understanding of US income tax compliance.
    • General understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley and ASC 740.
    • General understanding of sales and use tax process and compliance.
    • Ability to work independently and as a team member with minimal supervision.
    • Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office application and ERP systems; SAP experience a plus.
    • Strong sense of commitment to meeting deadlines.
    • Able to handle multiple responsibilities and be responsive to urgent projects.


    Education and Experience:



    • Approximately 1-2 years of relevant tax experience required.
    • Experience with financial closing at the business unit or legal entity level.
    • Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley.
    • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.


    Remuneration & Benefits/ Other



    • Location: Portsmouth, NH. Full-time office, 9/80 Schedule (Week 1: 9 hours Mon-Thu, 8 hours Fri. Week 2: 9 hours Mon-Thu, Friday off ) Albany's office core hours are: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM EST.
