Job Summary:

The HCS Enterprise Analytics & Interoperability Analyst enables one or many components of the end-to-end lifecycle of our analytics and/or interoperability products and services for business functions across the health system. This includes but is not limited to planning, development, testing, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of new or existing functionality.

This role will have a strong focus on data visualization and reporting using Microsoft Power BI. The ideal candidate will be proficient in building scalable, interactive dashboards and reports, leveraging enterprise data sources, and applying best practices in data modeling and DAX. Experience with Microsoft Fabric and integration with other Microsoft tools (e.g., Excel, Teams, SharePoint) is a plus. The candidate should also have experience designing and maintaining semantic models to support governed, reusable datasets that enable self-service analytics across the organization.

The HCS Enterprise Analytics & Interoperability Analyst also provides end-user technical enablement and support, which may include high-touch customer service, communications, and the creation of reusable knowledge assets such as documentation and training content. The HCS Enterprise Analytics & Interoperability is an individual contributor that works under supervision.

Description of Job Responsibilities:
Healthcare Analytics & Interoperability - The HCS Enterprise Analytics & Interoperability Analyst supports analytics and/or interoperability products and services for business functions across the health system. They engage in technical support request fulfillment. The HCS Enterprise Analytics & Interoperability Analyst approaches each new opportunity or challenge with the mindset of providing scalable, reusable, reliable, redundant, and recoverable systems and operations. Data Governance stewardship process participation is expected. They develop and maintain clear, understandable documentation to describe program development and modification, as well as troubleshooting. They update system and support documentation as necessary to reflect changes to programs, solutions, reports, and interfaces.
Communication and relationships - The HCS Enterprise Analytics & Interoperability Analyst supports departmental and organizational priorities in day-to-day work. They collaborate with team members to successfully completeassigned tasks, share knowledge openly. They communicate in a manner that is clear, concise, and politically and culturally sensitive.
Active Learner - Actively learns all of the aspects of the tools and technologies utilized by the organization. Seeks out opportunities to expand the depth of knowledge and understanding. Attends training, conferences and/or seminars that enhance personal growth.

Power BI Responsibilities - In addition to general analytics responsibilities, this role will:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support clinical, operational, and strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective Power BI solutions.
  • Apply data modeling techniques and write efficient DAX queries to ensure performance and usability.
  • Build and maintain semantic models in Power BI and Microsoft Fabric to support governed, reusable datasets that align with enterprise data governance standards.
  • Leverage Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, and Power BI Dataflows to build reusable, governed datasets.
  • Provide technical support and training to end users on Power BI usage and self-service analytics.
  • Maintain documentation for Power BI solutions, including data sources, logic, and user guides.

Licensure/Certification Requirements: * No licensure or certification required.

Professional Experience Requirements:

  • If a Bachelor's Degree in other field, requires two (2) years of experience.
  • If a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field (i.e. Engineering, Math, Computer Science, Analytics, etc.), then no years of experience is required.
  • If Master's Degree, then no experience is required.
  • If current certification in analytics, requires one (1) year of experience
  • If an Associate's Degree, requires four (4) years of experience.
  • If High School Diploma, requires six (6) years of experience.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:

Basic Proficiency: You have a common knowledge or an understanding of the basic techniques or concepts associated with this competency

- Fundamental knowledge (basic proficiency) of relational databases

- Fundamental knowledge (basic proficiency) of SQL (for all positions except Research, Admin, and Interop)

- Understands the importance and has fundamental knowledge (basic proficiency) with leveraging existing reusable data sources for visualizations and analytics before creating their own. When creating new assets they have the ability to make it reusable, with help.
