This role will support patient assisted free drug programs, working to enroll patient into patient assistance programs run by pharmaceutical companies and communicating status and approvals with physician clinicslinics and pharmacies. Pharmaceutical patient assistance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Identifies coverage issues impacting the oncology patient and possible alternate sources of coverage through pharmaceutical free drug programs. Works with patients who are under-insured and identifies alternate resources. Performs comprehensive benefit analysis for patients with insurance coverage issues. Follows up with stakeholders assisting program applications and provides weekly and monthly reports. Collects, maintains and analyzes detailed and extensive data for oncology pharmaceutical assistance, including tumor site, demographics, disparate populations; utilizes data from numerous sources; provides comprehensive reports.

Understands applicable compliance requirements and ensures requirements are met. Develops, maintains and manages databases for concurrent tracking of oncology patients referred for financial assistance/foundation assistance throughout the patient's treatment and follow-up period, including referral source, physician, clinician contact, approval decision and re-application if applicable. Responsible for patient account process used for pharmaceutical assistance and reconciliation of accounts with outpatient services. Manages databases for pharmacy replacement program. Performs patient account review and handles direct billing adjustments.

REQUIRED

  1. Associates Degree or at least four (4) years of Healthcare experience, with at least two (2) of those years in healthcare financial services experience.
  2. Database knowledge and experience
  3. Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
  4. Knowledge of and experience in the utilization of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and graphic presentation computer applications

PREFERRED

  1. Six (6) years of financial related healthcare experience.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge of hospital operations.
  3. Minimum of two (2) experience in Oncology or BMT
