The Position Job TitleMortgage Construction Portfolio Specialist Job Description

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for processing and servicing construction loans prior to and post-closing.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

Orders necessary due diligence to process loan for modification and conversion. Order property inspection reports and down date endorsements. Process loan payoff request Manages active loan pipeline to monitors loan maturities and coordinates the closing department on any modification documents Monitors loan past due report and follows up with borrower for payment Opens construction DDA and coordinates with borrower for signature documents and issuing checks. Coordinates with the servicing department for permanent loan setup

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESONSIBILITIES

  • Handles internal customer complaints and communicates issues to supervisor as needed.
  • Completes all required compliance exams on a yearly basis.
  • Adherence to all First United Policies and Procedures.
  • Dresses professionally.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Work Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum one year working experience in the loan area of a banking institution.
  • Minimum six months of hands-on experience with reviewing construction loan documentation.

Technical/Functional Competencies

  • Good understanding of computer spreadsheet and word processing programs.
  • Strong understanding of loans and loan products preferred.
  • Ability to initiate tasks and projects with little or no supervision.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Good problem-solving and decision making skills.
  • Demonstrates good judgment.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a wide range of people.
  • Ability to communicate well with internal customers by all means of communication including written, verbal, and non-verbal communication.
  • Willingness to accept additional responsibilities.
  • Dependable and adheres to time lines and schedules.
  • Takes initiative in development and completion of projects.
