Position: Team Photographer


Department: Creative


Reporting Relationship: Reports to Manager of Photo


Status: Full-time (Exempt)



Position Summary


The Carolina Panthers Team Photographer will serve as the secondary football photographer for the team, photographing all practices, games, and team shoots, in addition to other Club tentpole moments.



Primary Responsibilities



  • Photography: Deliver fans the comprehensive story of our football team through photo.


    • Serve as a photographer for all Panthers gamedays, home and away.
    • Serve as a photographer around key football moments including practices, travel, and key offseason events.
    • Publish all football photo galleries to PhotoShelter in timely manner following football events.
    • Develop systems to shoot, edit, and deliver football photos needed for other key content functions including:


      • Website Articles
      • Social Media
      • Video



  • Quality Control: Ensure world-class quality of all photography published on Panthers social and digital properties.


    • Help maintain quality standards and processes to ensure quality and continuity of all photos.


  • Strategy Assistance: Lead process to define, develop, and execute strategies for Panthers organic photo products that serve the needs of our fans and growth audiences.


    • Develop, pitch, and deliver sellable inventory related to photographic content.
    • Support creative ideation, creating a collaborative and inclusive work environment where all members contribute to the creative output of the team.


  • Freelancer Management: Assist in the management and organization of freelance photographers to capture football action on gameday to deliver total organizational needs related to photography.
  • Creative Photo Shoot Support: Ideate, plan, and execute creative photo shoots according to broader Creative department objectives and campaign content plans.
  • Media Asset Management: Lead process for photo asset management, creating and maintaining a digital photo archiving system that allows photos to be accessed in a timely and efficient manner across the organization.


    • Research, pitch, and execute systems for logging and tagging photos in a way that will be accessible, searchable, and highly usable across the TSE organization.
    • Responsible for logging processes and training
    • Curate and maintain Panthers Photoshelter account, or other photo asset management systems.


  • Cross-Functional Organization Assistance: Assist in capture, edit and archiving of TSE or Charlotte FC events on an as-needed basis.



Minimum Qualifications



  • 4+ years as a professional photographer, with notable experience collaborating effectively with other creatives
  • Extensive experience shooting and editing sports photography
  • Demonstrated passion for football
  • Ability and desire to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends and holidays is a must. This role is expected to work every home and away game during the NFL season, plus travel and special events.
  • Must pass pre-employment screens
  • Must be able to handle confidential, privileged, and/or sensitive information carefully and with sensitivity

Physical Requirements



  • Sitting at a desk and computer for long periods of time.
  • Bending, standing, reaching, kneeling, and lifting technology equipment and office materials.
  • Walking throughout the stadium facility, sometimes for an extended period of time.



Work Environment



  • This job operates in a professional office environment (mostly office environment, outside in a stadium facility at times which may include inclement weather conditions).
