About this Position:

As an Acute Care Speech-Language Pathologist at Gulf Coast Medical Center, At Gulf Coast Medical Center, our Speech-Language Pathologists thrive in a dynamic environment featuring arobust swallowing programwith direct access to instrumental assessments (including a well-established FEES program) and strong interdisciplinary collaboration for comprehensivedysphagia care. They are integral to a leadingHead & Neck Cancer programwith specialized pathways fortotal laryngectomy, surgical airways, and tracheostomy care. In the ICU, SLPs drive innovation through anearly-activity programas embedded members of the critical care team. They also contribute their expertise within aLevel II Trauma CenterandComprehensive Stroke Center, working across high-acuity units. Additionally, our SLPs at Gulf Coast Medical Center collaborate on unique,patient-centered initiativessuch asAnimal-Assisted Therapy, bringing innovation and holistic care to every patient experience.

In this role you will be responsible for providing screening, evaluation, treatment, and education for those who demonstrate impairments of speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, fluency, and/or swallowing. The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for adherence to and compliance with all American Speech-Language Pathology (ASHA) professional standards. The SLP is engaged in administration, consultation, education and research. The SLP is expected to conduct themselves in an effective professional behavior manner. The attributes, characteristics or behaviors required for success in this job include: critical thinking, communication, problem solving, interpersonal skills, responsibility, professionalism, use of constructive feedback, effective use of time and resources, stress management, and commitment to learning.

About our Rehabilitation Team:

Our Rehabilitation Services team is one of the largest and most dynamic in the region. With over 700 skilled professionals dedicated to helping patients regain strength, mobility, and independence through comprehensive, compassionate care. Our licensed physical, occupational, and speech therapists work closely with medical teams to create individualized treatment plans tailored to each patients unique needs. Beyond core therapy services, we offer a variety of specialty programs including neurological rehabilitation, vestibular and balance therapy, lymphedema management, pelvic health therapy, and oncology rehabilitation. With services spanning acute care, skilled nursing, home health, and outpatient settings, our team delivers exceptional, evidence-based care that restores function and enhances quality of life.

What this Position Requires:

Education:Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

Experience:Certificate of Clinical Competency.

Certification:BLS (American Heart Association / Basic Life Support).

License:Active Florida State Speech Language Pathologist Licensure.
