Description

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Psychiatrist - Nocturnist - CPEP to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx. Jacobi Medical Center is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center. To this day, Jacobi remains a respected leader in emergency medicine, trauma surgery, burn care, pediatrics, primary care, and women's health.The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with Albert Einstein College of Medicine to maintain its high healthcare delivery standards.

Our Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) is a state-of-the-art emergency psychiatry service. The CPEP provides a spectrum of multidisciplinary services designed to meet the needs of our diverse clientele in the most effective and least restrictive manner possible. Our 11,000 square-foot modern service includes separate pediatric and adult waiting areas, patient interview rooms, a patient holding area, and six extended observation beds. The Jacobi CPEP has approximately 700 registrations per month and has an embedded Mobile Crisis Team that makes up to 75 visits per month. Because the Behavioral Healthcare Services Department of Jacobi has large Inpatient, Outpatient and Addiction Services, the patients evaluated in our CPEP are mostly then treated within our continuum of care.

Opportunity Details:

  • Be the primary psychiatrist in charge during the overnight hours in our CPEP.

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and manage acute psychiatric presentations.

  • Document assessments, treatment plans and progress notes in the electronic health record in a timely manner.

  • Coordination of disposition planning in conjunction with Social Work, Physician Assistant, and other medical staff.

  • Documentation of incidents in conjunction with other members of the treatment team.

  • Support psychiatric emergencies and crisis intervention during the shift.

  • Provide psychiatric consultation to the medical emergency room.

  • Responsible for the provision of cutting edge, comprehensive evidence-based psychiatric care to patients who present to the CPEP.

Qualifications
  • NY state medical license.
  • ABMS Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
  • Graduate of ACGME or AOA approved training program.

Wages and Benefits Include:

Annual Base Salary: $289,000* (board eligible); $299,000* (board certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $461,900** (board eligible) and $472,900** (board certified), which includes the baseline salary, fringe benefits, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $104,000***.
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year's average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
  • Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you.
    • Additional employee-paid Voluntary Life and AD&D coverage is available for you and your family.
