CA ARNG NON CLINICAL CASE MANAGEMENT Location: Sacramento, CA JOB TITLE: Case Manager (CA) Pay: $56.08/hour + $5.09/hour H&W (up to 40 hrs/week), in accordance with SCA WD 2015-5637, Rev. 23 Position Summary: DAWSON is seeking full-time Case Management Case Managers to support the California Army National Guard (CA ARNG). This position plays a critical role in maintaining Service Member medical and dental readiness by managing cases, tracking referrals, documentation, and medical claims. Case Managers work closely with care coordinators, unit representatives, and readiness personnel to ensure accurate and timely processing of health information. This is a full-time role supporting both daily operations and weekend Medical Readiness Events (MREs) as needed. DAWSON delivers health readiness services that meet the deployment requirements of the CA ARNG. This position is Service Contract Act which is subject to Health & Welfare benefits DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES COULD INCLUDE:
- Provide case coordination, medical/dental documentation processing, profile management and tracking of deployment limiting conditions.
- Independently manage medical and dental case files, ensuring timely updates and closure of discrepancies.
- Utilize multiple DoD systems including:
- MEDCHART (eCase, eMMPS, HRR, DenClass)
- MODS (MEDPROS Web Data Entry, Medical Readiness Portal)
- Joint Longitudinal Viewer (JLV)
- CAARNG Medical Non-Deployable (MND) tracking system
- Monitor and update Army system(s) of record with the medical and dental status of Soldiers and ensure any medical or dental related issues identified, are followed, and documented.
- Support Medical Readiness Events (MREs) by processing charts, conducting screenings, and flagging non-deployable Service members.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on incoming medical/dental records and initiate remediation workflows.
- Process and maintain referral and profiling documentation within identified specific timelines.
- Review and track required medical/dental status' specific to Army and DoD guidelines.
- Maintain Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) certification, standards and guidelines.
- Manage Soldier's case from the identification of the condition to when the Soldier is either:
- Considered medically ready
- Administratively separated from the military.
- Submit case processing, medical documentation and profile concerns to medical review officer (MRO).
- Facilitate and track case management for Service members including those returning from deployments.
- Provide case manager services at MRE events as determined by the needs of the state and the individual units.
- Coordinate and document all Service member contact in the preferred Army system (email, phone, interview).
- Run and interpret specific reports to inform deployment fitness status.
- Support patient education, release-of-information documentation, and privacy briefings.
- Participate in case reviews to ensure that every Service member with an open case is being tracked, managed and communicate with at a minimum of every 30 calendar days.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS Required:
- Be at least a LVN/LPN with an active license in good standing in the state of CA
- Utilization review or disease management experience or certification in case management
- Minimum of 3 years' adult medicine clinical practice experience
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Familiarity with common clinical assessment tools and documentation standards
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable interacting with diverse and occasionally difficult populations
- Ability to maintain HIPAA standards and handle sensitive medical information appropriately
- Eligible for government system access and CAC issuance
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of AR 40-501, AR 40-502, DA PAM 40-502, and other IMR and deployment-related guidance
- Prior experience in military medical/dental readiness or administrative processing
- Familiarity with military culture (e.g., veteran, military family member, or volunteer)
- Experience supporting mobile or field-based medical clinics
- Proficiency in AHLTA/MHS Genesis, and other DoD systems
- Proficiency with military medical administrative systems, including MEDCHART and MODS
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- May require some travel throughout California
- Occasionally required to stand or walk during MREs
- Continually required to sit, concentrate, and use a computer
- Must be able to lift/carry medical records or screening equipment occasionally
