Job Overview & Responsibilities

Embedded Software Engineer RS-4 -Ground Software & Avionics Firmware / HDL

As an EmbeddedSoftware Engineeryou are responsible for maintaining and developing new software / hardware products, implementing modern design principles and concepts, resolving complex technical problems, and providing solutions which are innovative andingenious.



In this position, you will primarily support the Ground Software Avionics team, providing both technical leadership and hands-on development to deliver operational and enabling capabilities to meet hard real-time requirements for command and control of Avionics Flight Control hardware and EGSE Systems. This position may support design, verification or maintenance of software / firmware / hdl on both sides of the flight / ground interface.

Bachelor



Required Years of Experience


Minimum of 6 years of related work experience



Basic Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degreein a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field from an accredited college or university. Master's degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline highly desired.
  • 6 - 10 years of relevant work experience
  • Expertise with Real Time Linux-based operating systems
  • Expertise with development and troubleshooting of timing critical Hardware and Software systems
  • Expertise in authoring, executing and review of IV&V plans of Avionics Hardware
  • Expertise across a variety of chip, board and network level communication protocols
  • Expertise with Hardware Description Languages (Verilog / VHDL)
  • Experience with object-oriented designs and languages
  • Experience with C/C++
  • Experience with software development practices including:
    -Configuration Management practices and tools such as Git
    -Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)


-Agile Methodologies
-Test Driven Development (TDD)
-Software Design Principles & Patterns



Preferred Qualifications



  • Technical leadership experience in an Engineering environment
  • Experience presenting hardware / software / system architecture and designs to both internal audiences as well as external customers
  • Familiarity with standards such as RCC-319, SMC-012/021 or DO-178

Summary Salary Range (forULA - Denveronly): $132,469.00 - $220,781.00

Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon a candidate's experience and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.
