This position is for a Full Time, Day Shift, Medical Lab Technician in the Chemistry Laboratory. Scope of Work Under general direction, performs and reports routine or select clinical laboratory tests and procedures in one or more sections of the laboratory. Under supervision, performs select chemical, hematologic microscopic, morphologic, immunologic, and/or microbiologic procedures involving manual procedures or the use of complex laboratory instruments. Uses training and clinical judgment to evaluate instrument performance and quality control results to determine the accuracy and reliability of analytic data before it is released; recognizes and refers implausible results or special/unusual circumstances to medical technologist or supervisor. Standardizes, calibrates, operates, performs preventive maintenance and limited troubleshooting on select laboratory equipment or instruments within established parameters. Assists in gathering data for the evaluation, correlation, and introduction of new instrument or procedures.
