Genesis10 is seeking a System Administrator for our client in the financial services industry. This Contract to Perm position is located Irving, TX. Hybrid schedule.

W2 Hourly Pay rate range: $40-45

Description:

A System Administrator implements, maintains, optimizes, and secures IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability across on-premises and cloud environments. This role will have expertise in system configuration, provisioning, backups, patching, and troubleshooting, along with strong problem-solving and communication skills. They collaborate with IT teams to support business operations, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvements in system management.

Responsibilities:


  • Administer, configure, and maintain core enterprise platforms (e.g., infrastructure systems, Salesforce, SharePoint) to ensure optimal performance, security, and user access aligned with business goals.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for user-reported issues across platforms; diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve problems in a timely and customer-focused manner.
  • Perform regular system health checks, audits, data backups, and performance monitoring; proactively identify and address performance or security issues to maintain uptime and compliance.
  • Manage user provisioning, role-based access controls, and permissions in accordance with enterprise security policies and data privacy standards.
  • Work closely with functional teams such as Loan Servicing, Originations, Dealer Services, and Compliance to understand requirements and implement technology solutions that improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintain clear documentation of configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate administrative tasks and workflows to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Support users across the organization on system features and best practices; contribute to a shared knowledge base.
  • Assist in ensuring systems adhere to financial regulatory standards such as SOX, PCI-DSS, and data privacy laws, in coordination with Risk, Audit, and Compliance teams.


System Management & Maintenance

  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows/Linux servers (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy).
  • Manage virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix) and containerized workloads (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Perform routine system monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery (Veeam, Commvault, Azure Backup).
  • Apply OS and application patches, updates, and security hardening (WSUS, SCCM, Ansible).
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues (performance tuning, log analysis).


Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure

  • Administer cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) - VM provisioning, storage, IAM, and cost optimization.
  • Implement hybrid identity solutions (Azure AD Connect, Okta, SSO).
  • Automate deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (Terraform, ARM templates, CloudFormation).


Security & Compliance

  • Enforce security policies, antivirus, and endpoint protection (Defender, CrowdStrike).
  • Ensure compliance with IT standards (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
  • Monitor and respond to security alerts and vulnerabilities.


User Support & Documentation

  • Provides training and mentorship to IT System Technicians
  • Provide L2/L3 technical support for escalated IT issues.
  • Maintain system documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
  • Train end-users and junior staff on best practices.


Requirements:

  • Operating Systems: Windows Server, Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu).
  • Virtualization: VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, Nutanix.
  • Backup & Recovery: Veeam, Azure Backup, Commvault.
  • Patch Management: WSUS, SCCM, Ansible.
  • Cloud Platforms: Azure/AWS/GCP (IaaS, PaaS).
  • Scripting/Automation: PowerShell, Bash, Python.
  • Networking Basics: TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, Firewalls.
  • Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Monitoring Tools: SolarWinds, PRTG, Grafana.
  • IaC & DevOps Tools: Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins.


Desired Skills:

  • Ability to configure, administer, and maintain enterprise platforms, including workflows, access controls, and integrations.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving system issues; familiarity with monitoring tools and logging platforms.
  • Understanding of role-based user provisioning/de-provisioning, and identity management protocols.
  • Experience with workflow/process automation tools.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
  • Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking - Analyze, troubleshoot, and develop solutions for complex challenges.
  • Documentation & Communication - Clearly document processes, requirements, and troubleshooting steps using industry-standard technologies.
  • Collaboration & Cross-Functional Work - Work with teams across disciplines to integrate and optimize solutions.
  • Requires intermediate analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Requires intermediate verbal and written communication skills including collaboration in a cross-functional environment
  • Skilled in creating clear documentation of systems, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Experience in one or more process and/or technical tools relevant to the role


Desired Certifications:

  • Microsoft Certified (AZ-104, MS-102), RHCSA, AWS SysOps.
