Job Title: Machinist/Assembler

Pay Rate: $20/hr. - $32/hr. on w2 without benefits
Job Description:
- Sets up and operates various conventional and/or numerically controlled machining centers on the most complex and difficult jobs.
- Works from blueprints, sketches, planning sheets, verbal instructions, and/or engineering, tooling, or equipment information.
- Contributes to lean initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Runs multiple machines efficiently, which may require simultaneous operations. Adapts or improvises tooling to accomplish results where operations require a broad knowledge of production machining technology, operating skills, and shop techniques together with diversified experience.
- Sets ups, adjusts, and operates a variety of conventional and/or special purpose machines to perform the most diversified and difficult production operations on work having close and exact tolerances, several dimensional relationships, unusual contours, dimensional and finish requirements.
- Interprets customer requirements from blueprints, complex drawings, engineering specifications, quality directives, charts, tables, sketches, and verbal instructions.
- Implements manufacturing methods using standard production machines, materials, and tooling. May advise and assist with tooling design.
- Makes complex setups, which may include multiple work piece stations, utilizing custom and standard holding devices.
- Develops and defines processes with limited documentation, as required.
- Responsible for machining and checking parts to maintain a high level of quality and efficiency.
- Inspects finished parts for conformance to specifications by visual examination, and utilizes precision measuring instruments such as gages, calipers, micrometers, comparators, and surface plate techniques. May be required to use coordinate measuring machine (CMM). Ensures equipment is calibrated in accordance with schedule.
Required Skills:
- Performs moderately complex assembly/test functions utilizing mechanical skills, hand and power tools, mechanical/electronic tools, test equipment, assembly fixtures, and inspection measurement equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Records test results on data forms using moderately complex electrical equipment and flow measurement devices. May use X-Y recorders, oscilloscopes, transducers, and other related equipment.
- Identifies malfunctions disclosed by test data and reworks as instructed.
- Interprets blueprints, engineering orders, assembly routes, test specifications, service bulletins, customer requirements, and quality directives.
- Produces and inspects assemblies that conform to product specifications. Assembles, tests, and/or solders to customer and/or industry standards.
- Two or more years industry related experience in assembly/test in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrate product and process knowledge by applying it to newly learned techniques.
- Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints, route sheets, and test specifications. Perform basic mathematical calculations, as well as demonstrate effective verbal, written, and basic computer skills.
- Possess strong mechanical reasoning.
