Description
Do you have experience advocating for children and supporting programs to ensure all children are successful? Do you have a passion for ensuring children, regardless of their ability, have access to education, safety, instruction, and fun? This may be an opportunity for you! The Marblehead YMCA is looking for an inclusion specialist to help ensure that children in our school-age program are supported in reaching their full potential. On a regular day, you will conduct and document observations, provide staff feedback, monitor the behavior, and support needs of program participants. The Inclusion Specialist reviews behavioral incident reports and monitors for patterns, supports the implementation of social and emotional curriculum, works with individual students while providing guidance, models expectations, and teaches social/emotional skills. Additionally, you willsupport an inclusive and positive environment by incorporating appropriate modifications and accommodations, support screenings and assessments, evaluate and communicate results, and reassess as needed.As part of an active team of childcare specialists, you'll facilitate educational opportunities, not limited to but including workshops, staff development, and family engagement. To thrive in this role you have experience working with vulnerable populations and a flexible compassionate style. You can communicate effectively with children, families, and a childcare team, implementing and coaching best practices as well as reading and modeling theapplication of social and emotional curriculum or methods. You can identify and understand the cause and motivation of events and actions about child behavior and have sound judgment in response to the unexpected. You have experience working with state agencies and are knowledgeable of community resources for families and children.
