SR. SUSTAINABLEWASTER ADVISOR









  • This role supports clients as their primary trusted advisor for strategic waste management, consulting clients on recycling and compliance best practices, circularity and other topics of relevance. This position will lead compliance and Zero Waste projects and function as the escalation point for audits and reporting related requests. Work lead by this role may be supported by cross-functional employees and volunteers and will be responsible for coordinating the activities of these personnel, in support of client projects conducted both on-site and remotely.



PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Provide waste advising services to assigned clients; including, but not limited to: compliance consulting, audits and waste characterization, recycling program implementation, RFP development, bid process facilitation, right-sizing, strategy development, and contract management.
  • Develop and implement complex waste management programs and solutions that enable our clients to achieve compliance and zero waste goals including delivering roadmaps and workshops, researching waste services and vendors, conducting onsite evaluations and managing escalated issues.
  • Develop and maintain required client reporting tools and project management tools for team.
  • Assist in development of new waste advising services and marketing materials
  • Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of waste industry practices, policies, technology, and emerging infrastructure
  • Communicate with waste haulers, processors, and local governments, to gather timely, accurate, and complete waste market intelligence
  • Explain and educate clients on waste market dynamics and metrics
  • Responsible for billing, managing and tracking resources and client engagements, expenses, labor utilization and efficiency



QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:




  • Education/ Certifications/ Experience

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • Bachelor's Degree preferred in one of the following fields; sustainability, operations management, business administration concentration
    • 3+ years relevant experience of direct waste industry experience preferred with the ability to demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of the waste industry
    • TRUE Certification a plus
    • Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record required
    • May consider a combination of relevant experience with educational and other skills and abilities in lieu of educational requirements

    • Strong leadership, organizational, operational, verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products, plus Smartsheet and Tableau or other data and analytics software tools

The pay range for this role is: $ 62,000-105,000

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant's background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data. This position is eligible for our comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Additional ENGIE benefits include a 401k plan, paid time off and annual bonus. ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws.











WORK ENVIRONMENT:




  • Work schedules are determined by business need and manager discretion; full time employment is considered 40 hours per week

  • Incumbent may be exposed to frequent noise caused by telephones, office machines, and nearby oral communications among fellow employees
  • As a global organization, attending meetings and events during early mornings and evenings may be required
  • Work is often on client sites and can vary from landfills, manufacturing faiclities, and to hospitals
  • Will be exposed to strong smells and various types of waste
  • Performing duties and attending events during the evening and on the weekend occurs occasionally and may be required
  • Traveling off-site to employee and client locations globally, events and vendor meetings is required
  • Occasional international business trips may be necessary, and a valid passport is essential
  • Business travel required 50-75% of the time



REQUIRED PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:




  • Extended Periods of Sitting: Ability to remain seated for long periods, with regular breaks as needed.
  • Visual Acuity: Ability to view computer screens and read documents for extended periods.
  • Frequent Use of Hands: Ability to use hands for typing, handling documents, and operating office equipment.
  • Communication: Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, through various mediums including phone, email, and video conferencing.
  • Mobility: Ability to move within an office environment to access files, office machinery, and attend meetings.
  • Reaching and Handling: Ability to reach, handle, and manipulate objects and equipment within an office or remote workspace.
  • Occasional Lifting: Ability to lift and move items, such as files or office supplies, typically up to 30 pounds.
  • Flexibility: Ability to perform tasks that may require bending, twisting, or standing briefly to access materials or equipment.
