We’re seeking a motivated Commercial Supply Trader to be accountable for all Diesel and Jet spot and term supply arrangements, ensuring optimal balance between refinery production and market demand. You will work closely with the Business Management, Economics & Scheduling team, the Business Development team, and colleagues across the extended PEMEX portfolio to align supply and product disposition. You will play a key role in maximizing Gross Refining Margin and advancing the strategic objectives of one of the largest and most complex refineries in the United States.

To succeed as a Commercial Supply Trader, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field, with solid commercial experience in hydrocarbons supply and trading.
  • Proven expertise in physical marketing, trading, and commercial negotiations, with strong deal origination skills.
  • Solid understanding of global and regional market dynamics, risk management, and exposure controls.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build relationships and drive business development opportunities.
  • Ability to travel as required to customers, counterparties, and industry forums to support trading activities and market engagement.

 

As a Commercial Supply Trader, you will:

  • Trade Diesel and Jet products to balance refinery production, maximize margin, and manage trading positions in alignment with market fundamentals.
  • Negotiate and manage spot and term contracts, ensuring performance, compliance, and sustainable outcomes with counterparties.
  • Develop new customers, markets, and trading opportunities while representing PEMEX Deer Park in industry forums and maintaining strong external relationships.
  • Collaborate with Economics & Scheduling, Marine, and Business Development teams to coordinate logistics, optimize operations, and support strategic initiatives.
  • Manage risk through hedging and derivative transactions, contribute to market strategy development, and share accountability for Gross Refining Margin performance.

PEMEX Deer Park is a highly complex refinery located 18 miles east of Houston in Deer Park, TX. It is part of the Pemex group, a fully integrated oil company in the Americas, working across the entire value chain: exploration, production, industrial processing/refining, logistics, and marketing. The refinery’s rated capacity is 340,000 barrels per day and has the feed flexibility to process multiple grades of crude oil to produce high-quality transportation fuels the world needs. The Pemex site is co-located with other 3rd party chemical facilities, allowing for further integration and optimization of the refinery and its products.
