Research Lab Tech I

Massachusetts General Hospital
United States, Massachusetts, Boston
149 13th Street (Show on map)
Oct 01, 2025
The Vazquez-Garcia Lab at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and the Broad Institute is seeking exceptional candidates for a technologist position in our interdisciplinary team.
Our lab investigates the fundamental principles of somatic evolution and immune surveillance in cancer. We use data-driven approaches to study cellular dynamics in tumors, combining single-cell genomics, cellular imaging and AI/ML approaches with large clinical datasets and experimental models. Our research draws on multi-modal data from basic science and clinical practice to understand how genomic adaptations confer selective advantages to tumor cells, act as biomarkers of therapeutic response and resistance, and sensitize tumors for targeted intervention. Our ultimate goal is to impact human health and clinical care for patients, leveraging our understanding of cancer trajectories to enable biomarkers and therapeutic strategies that anticipate and overcome tumor progression.
This is a research-focused role designed for candidates aiming to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The position is ideal for recent graduates interested in pursuing careers in biomedical research, medical school, or graduate school.
The Research Technician will work closely with the PI and other lab members to execute and optimize protocols related to tissue processing, molecular biology, and high-throughput genomics. This position offers multiple opportunities for authorship on publications, skill development, and direct mentorship.
