Your role

As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will be responsible for metallurgical and materials testing in the met lab in support of rivet manufacturing. You will report to the Quality Assurnace Supervisor.

You will,





    • Responsible for the efficient inspection of raw material and Atlas Copco Henrob's rivet manufacturing processes
    • Performs laboratory testing and inspection including, but not limited to:

      • Wire tensile strength
      • Rockwell and micro-hardness hardness testing of heat-treated parts
      • Metallographic sample preparation
      • Microstructure interpretation
      • Plating thickness inspection

    • Uses Syspro to update receiving and in-process inspections as required
    • Enters data into QDA
    • Assist in the investigation of quality issues, field failures and root cause analysis as required in support of production
    • Maintains cleanliness of the met lab in accordance with standard practices
    • Work safely and in accordance with all safety policies
    • Shuts down rivet production as required
    • Other related duties as directed by the Quality Assurance Supervisor or Quality Engineer

    • Hands on experience with various metallurgical inspection equipment is a plus: tensile tester, hardness tester, micro-hardness tester, metallograph
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Good communication and organizational skills
    • Confidence to stop production as required in a professional manner
    • Self-motivated and driven to achieve goals and targets established by the company
    • High energy level and strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
    • Visual acuity to accurately inspect and read measurements.
    • Knowledge of Syspro and QDA a plus
    • Computer proficiency in Microsoft applications Word, Excel, etc

    EDUCATION OR QUALIFICATIONS:



    • High School Diploma, Associates degree or 2 years equivalent experience preferred

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (AS APPLICABLE):



    • Some periodic heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) will be necessary.
