A New Drug Application for tenapanor for hyperphosphatemia has been approved in China with Fosun Pharma. Knight Therapeutics commercializes IBSRELA in Canada.
Position Summary:
The Associate Director, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) position will help lead the Finance team in guiding Ardelyx through its next phase of growth. The role will be counted on as the Finance business partner to the Technical Operations department, encompassing supply chain, manufacturing, and CMC activities, and will collaborate with the broader Finance team in support of other departments, corporate planning and process improvements. Success in this role will require an ability to closely collaborate with senior leaders to resourcefully navigate financial planning and decision support, facility supporting inventory planning, COGS and manufacturing strategy, while also acting as a strong financial steward for the broader enterprise. The position will ideally be based out of the Ardelyx headquarters in Waltham, MA, while also working virtually with team members spread across locations in the US. The role reports to the Senior Vice President, FP&A.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide financial and strategic business partnership and decision support to the Technical Operations leadership and team
  • Develop, analyze, interpret and present financial results, with the ability to adapt messaging and tell the story behind the numbers to various audiences from Executive/Board level to line managers and the organization at large
  • Work with supported teams to develop near-term and long-term financial plans, scenarios, and forecasts for COGS, operating expenses and inventory build
  • Facilitate budget and forecast processes by understanding business plans, collecting functional inputs and producing analysis and presentations with hands-on use of planning and reporting tools
  • Partner with supply chain management and corporate development to administer financial planning for external CMOs and partners
  • Lead the monthly review process for Technical Operations to manage and track spending and investment decisions to help deliver on financial goals
  • Coordinate with cost accounting on month-end and quarterly close tasks, procure-to-pay processes, preparation of quarterly schedules, and support of external reporting and related audit inquiries
  • Administer and provide input into corporate financial processes and timelines, including analysis and reporting of corporate results and understanding of trends and variances
  • Help drive improvements to COGS and inventory planning models, finance processes, systems and data visualization to advance the quality and efficiency of FP&A initiatives
  • Complete ad-hoc strategic initiatives as capabilities are demonstrated and opportunities arise; potential initiatives include but are not limited to: expanding FP&A support for additional functions, portfolio prioritization, business development analyses, and financing strategies
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, MBA/CPA preferred, with 8 - 10 years of financial planning and analysis or equivalent experience
  • Experience within a pharmaceutical/biotech company or consulting firm preferred, with emphasis on experience planning for pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Hands-on, with the ability to transition from strategic thinking to tactical execution and ad-hoc analysis with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and a track record defining and focusing on priorities
  • Advanced skills with MS Office, and experience and familiarity with ERP, Planning/Reporting and BI technologies
  • Experience developing and leading Finance process improvements, financial modeling, and applying artificial intelligence (AI) tools a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, can multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Strong knowledge of accounting processes and impact on financial results
The anticipated annualized base pay range for this full-time position is $164,000-$200,000. Ardelyx utilizes industry data to ensure that our compensation is competitive and aligned with our industry peers. Actual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors, including years of relevant experience, training, qualifications, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include an annual bonus target and equity awards, subject to eligibility and other requirements.
