Tactical Air Support Inc. Accounts Payable Specialist Reno, NV $65,000 - $70,000/yr (DOE) Position Summary The ideal candidate for the Accounts Payable Specialist position will report to the Accounts Payable Manager and will be organized, detail-oriented, and must be committed to providing efficient, reliable support to the finance team members, other departments, and external parties. This position will be responsible for all activities related to accounts payable and will participate in problem-solving and special projects as assigned. The successful candidate for this position will serve as the company's subject matter expert for all accounts payable. Responsibilities The essential functions for this position may include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain system to organize receipt of invoices, in-process invoices, and payments processed.
- Enter and process invoices timely with proper account coding and approvals.
- Conduct research using the Internet, databases, files, reference manuals and other sources as needed.
- Match invoices to purchase orders for accurate accounting of outstanding purchases.
- Prepare and perform weekly accounts payable check run and electronic payments.
- Regular and ongoing communications with vendors to obtain vendor information, statement reconciliation, missing invoices, and to resolve questions about invoices and payments.
- Serve as a liaison between Finance and other divisions within the organization to provide information for proper invoice submissions and processing.
- Assist Finance team with completion of month end close process.
- Participate in financial audits as required.
- Participate in the preparation of 1099 forms.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or related discipline with 2 years of relevant experience minimum.
- Demonstrated progressive background and experience in accounts payable role.
- Equivalent combination of training, education, and experience in basic accounts payable practices will be considered in lieu of degree.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide information to colleagues, customers, co-workers, or other stakeholders (internal and external) utilizing various communication formats and tools, and exhibiting appropriate body language and listening skills, with emphasis on sharing or transmitting technical information with clarity and accuracy.
- Knowledge of accounts payable administration to ensure accuracy of process and information.
- Strong Windows-based computer skills with ability to utilize various software and applications (Microsoft Office 365/GCC High/MS Teams preferred) for creating documents, reports, forms, spreadsheets, presentations, and publications as required; web-based applications for organizing work, communications, or data entry; virtual office/cloud-based file sharing environment; accounting software, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and database management (e.g., UNANET etc.).
- Valid state driver license.
Desired Experience/Skills
- Familiarity or experience with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) federal contracting, DCAA/DCMA government accounting, and the aerospace, defense, or commercial aviation industry preferred.
- Accounts payable certification advantageous.
- Ability to properly handle classified and/or protected information and/or materials, manage files, and maintain records in compliance with standard or required recordkeeping practices.

- Must be lawfully eligible to work in the United States, complete a U.S. government I-9 form, and successfully pass a government background check.
