This Account Clerk II position sits in the In-Home Support Services (IHSS) Division of the Human Services Department (HSD). They are primarily responsible for reviewing and adjusting transactions and accounts, and authorizing payments in compliance with established procedures, regulations, and record keeping practices. Additional responsibilities include:

• Providing excellent customer service, including answering phone calls from clients and assisting with questions

• Screening documents for accuracy and adherence to established requirements

• Assisting with new provider enrollment by entering personal information accurately and timely into the IHSS database

• Completing verifications from multiple sources (banks, apartment complexes, medical, and others) accurately per IHSS confidentiality policies

• Answering provider questions regarding timesheets, pay period breaks, overtime, submitting timesheets, and paycheck tracking

• Sorting and processing mail, and creating letters, forms, reports, memos, and notices

• Assisting providers with various documents including tax, live-in provider, sick pay, and new provider forms

• Corresponding with other County departments, external vendors, and the general public

• Utilizing multiple databases and forms, including Payroll and Public Authority (PAPA), CMIPS, Provider Enrollment and Registry System (PEARS), Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), Acrobat PDF, and others
