  • Portneuf Medical Center is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region's Level II Trauma and tertiary care center and home to the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group, and Portneuf Air Rescue.

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of a preceptor pharmacist, will assist in the technical and clinical aspects of preparing medications for dispensing and assist in pharmacy operations.
  • Trained in the compounding of non-sterile medications and preparing sterile intravenous admixtures aseptically.
  • Accurately restock and replenish pharmacy with inventory from orders as well as medications received from returns from floor or automated dispensing machines.
  • Ensure all expired, damaged, or compromised medication in pharmacy, automated machines, and floor stock are removed and segregated from active inventory.
  • Manage cabinet inventory, review and adjust par levels, and monitor expiration dates.
  • Monitor and reviews daily batch reports, such as restock reports, stock out reports, all station events, discrepancies, overrides, ordered meds not loaded, etc.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School graduate or GED.
  • Active Registered Pharmacy Intern or Pharmacy Technician with Idaho Board of Pharmacy.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Enrolled in an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • IV Certification or training, based on state requirements.
