Could you be the full-time hybrid Safety Engineer in West Mifflin, PA, US we're looking for?

Your future role

"Take on a new challenge and apply your robust and analytical expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside dedicated, innovative, and collaborative teammates. You'll manage the safety activities and related deliverables, ensuring compliance with QCD commitments on the project(s)/program(s) you are appointed to. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (design, industrial, sourcing, validation etc.), coordinating safety contributors and much more."

We'll look to you for:



  • Performing the safety analyses as per the applicable safety instructions/processes and other specific requirements committed to the Customer.
  • Addressing Customer/Independent parties (ISA, NoBo, Debo,...) comments to get approval on the safety deliverables witin the limits of Alstom commitments.
  • Contributing to the assessment of the safety performance of the product and to the upstream identification of the necessary safety requirements to ensure the achievement of the safety targets.
  • Applying the Alstom/Engineering rules & processes to theactivities in particular those dedicated to safety activities.
  • Having a pro-active challenging view on the safety data/results to enhance the adequacy/consistency of the safety studies and requirements.
  • Seeking the technical understanding of the Alstom products in order to better assess their safety performance and potential areas of improvement.
  • Adopting a product oriented mindset in performing their studies to foster the capitalisation of the results of the studies towards the product safety performance.

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or other related engineering disciplines,



  • Experience or understanding of safety methods and tools,



  • Knowledge of safety hazard analysis, preferably applied to Railway products,



  • Good Communications and interpersonal skills including with third parties (customer),



  • Familiarity with time management and reporting skills,



  • Structured and organized with a Hands-on approach,



  • Customer & Product Focus
