Position Summary
This position contributes to designing, developing, executing, and interpreting research projects, in collaboration with researchers at AI.Health4All Center, which address pressing societal problems in healthcare with data-driven approaches such as AI, simulation, process mining, and social network analysis. The candidate is expected to perform complex data collection, preprocessing, analysis, modeling, and result interpretation using state-of-the-art methods that are outlined by the Principal Investigator and other team members.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the AI.Health4All research team to develop research objectives and design research projects and proposals.
  • Conduct literature searches and reviews.
  • Collect both structured and unstructured data from internal and external sources and preprocess them.
  • Conduct data analysis using explanatory data analysis and basic statistics, and interpret the results.
  • Document study results appropriately and prepare a report.
  • Develop and validate artificial intelligence, simulation, and social network models.
  • Deploy models and asses their impact on healthcare quality, equity and efficiency using appropriate methods and KPIs.
  • Conduct surveys, interviews, and observations to establish research protocols and identify gaps.
  • Assist in the writing of research findings for publications, presentations, grants, and other documents.
  • Assist with IRB submissions, modifications, and continuing reviews and maintenance of regulatory documentation.
  • Order study supplies and maintain inventories.
  • Maintain detailed records of results and prepare written reports.
  • Maintain and process required paperwork.
  • Ability to articulate and disseminate technical information to multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary teams.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

  • Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Operations Research. Industrial Engineering or related field required. Master's is preferred.
    • A minimum of 3 years related research experience.
      Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices and methods.
      Proficient in specific lab research techniques.
    • Sound experience and knowledge of data-driven research.
    • Excellent experience with Python, R, Java, and SQL.
    • Excellent experience with version control methods for software/model and data (Git and GitHub)
    • Concrete experience with developing and deploying machine learning algorithms, simulation models, and social network analysis.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Experience working in medical or health service research is preferred.
    • Knowledge of fundamental human subjects' research concepts, practices, and procedures.
