Texas NeuroRehab Center is a specialized treatment facility located ten minutes from downtown Austin on 67 wooded acres. We have served the Austin community for over 80-years and are proud of our history and tenured leadership team. Today, Texas NeuroRehab Center provides complex medical and brain injury rehab for ages 13 years and older and neurobehavioral residential treatment services for children and adolescents. The capabilities of the facility as a whole allow for integrated and specialized care for children, adolescents and adults facing difficult challenges. Qualifications The following are the job requirements for the Director of Rehabilitation position. SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Management skills with the ability to identify problems and recommend solutions. Able to develop and implement policies and procedures. Knowledge of psychiatric, medical, and rehabilitative procedures. Knowledge of applicable State and federal regulations and The Joint Commission standards. Able to evaluate the performance of other staff members against the criteria in their job descriptions. EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited college or university. Bachelor's or Master's degree in therapy discipline (PT/OT/ST). LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current Driver's License or State issued Id. Has and maintains licensure appropriate to discipline; CPR Certification. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five years' experience in neurorehabilitation field with a minimum of two years progressive supervisory/management experience in rehabilitation field. Experience in evaluating staff against the criteria in their job descriptions preferred. PHYSICAL/GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to occasionally lift, carry and lower up to 25 pounds. Hearing, vision, and emotional stability sufficient to perform essential job functions. Requires working under stressful conditions and/or working irregular hours with changing priorities. Must be able to sit and write for extended periods of time. Must be able to communicate effectively both verbal, by telephone, and written.
