Location: 5001 Angel Canyon Road; Kanab, UT 84741 Hiring Range: This position's hiring range is anticipated to be $16.50 - $18 hourly, depending on experience, plus great benefits! Shift: 5 days/week, days TBD Manager interviews will occur weekly until the position is filled (recruiter phone screens will occur before a manager interview). Position Summary: Sanctuary Store FT Ambassador is responsible for providing exceptional guest service at the Welcome Center, must be diligent in providing Best Friends visitors with an enthusiastic welcome and educational experience while helping them with their shopping or visit. Responsible for providing our visitors with quality experience through informative and engaging tours of the Sanctuary as needed. They must possess a strong ability to multi-task, be flexible and remain focused in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Responsible for always maintaining the Sanctuary store in guest-presentable conditions. The Ambassador facilitates retail purchases, pricing and stocking, provides directions, assists with adoptable pet care, helps guests with problem solving while working as a member of the Visitor experience team. The Sanctuary Store Ambassador works closely with the Welcome Center team as well as other associates providing a high level of personal service to our guests and visitors. You are responsible and accountable for the culture you add to your team dynamic. * Provide a friendly welcome to visitors and guests including people and pets. * Facilitates retail purchases of food, beverage and/or merchandise. * Properly and graciously handles all guest and visitor requests. * Provide directions and assists with activities. * Count cash drawer at the beginning or end of the day to ensure that float is correct and that there is adequate change * Prepare end-of-day settlement report and reconcile cash/credit card amounts * Receive and process mail & phone orders * Answer sanctuary store phone & emails * Possess knowledge about products and can answer questions to help facilitate purchases. * Document internal purchases insuring proper entry regarding merchandise and department coding * Ensure packaging materials, receipt printer supplies are available, and reorder as needed. * Participate in WC daily staff meeting. * Ensure a clean and well-organized environment. * Engage visitors and guests in the work of Best Friends. * Create and provide informative and up-to-date tours as needed, on a variety of topics including Best Friends History and Mission. * Become conversant on all Best Friends projects, rollouts, policies, programs, and animal care to answer questions and engage visitors. * Engage with guests and help them navigate their visit i.e. volunteering, adopting, touring, lodging. * Invite our guests to become members and support our mission. * Inspire our guests to be involved in the no kill movement in their communities through volunteering, advocacy and sharing their experience. * Assist guests by researching membership status on Hero, locating pet placements, assisting guests in securing volunteer shifts, sleepovers, and encouraging Action Team sign-ups. * Other duties as assigned. Skills and Experience: * One year work experience, preferably in a customer service role. * Outgoing positive personality and communication skills. * Ability to drive 15 passenger vans safely and efficiently. * The ideal person for this job will be a team player, personable, professional and able to work cooperatively with a wide variety of associates, guests and visitors. * Attention to detail with the ability to be flexible and adaptable to provide an outstanding guest experience. * Able to handle a variety of tasks and requests with changing priorities. Must be comfortable with technology and proficient with computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with Point-of-Sale systems (POS) a plus. * Ability to work a flexible, full-time schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Physical Requirements: * Must be able to routinely lift 40 pounds or more to stock supplies and serve guests. * Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions to support guest needs and events. * Must be able to perform strenuous physical activity daily including standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and kneeling to support guest interactions.
