Minimum Job Requirements


  • Physical- Generally sedentary work. Some light lifting may be involved. Proficient in the use of a PC keyboard with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Working Hours- fulltime employment
  • Personal Traits- Excellent communication skills with positive teamwork and safety attitude. Conscientious attention to detail and accuracy while able to multi-task and trouble shoot. Must be "quality minded."
  • Leadership: Displays good leadership qualities. Is a role model and sets the standard of productivity, safety and quality for employees of different levels to follow. Has a desire to mentor and develop employees.


Job Duties and Responsibilities


  • Responsible for day-to-day operations of the Quality department.
  • Manage department employees including performance, evaluations, training, work assignments, problem resolutions, hiring and terminations in accordance with HR policies.
  • Plan, manage, and audit the Quality Management System and procedures throughout the organization, ensuring adequate documentation and continuous improvement.
  • Establish departmental goals that ensure forward progress of the quality organization.
  • Support the Plant Manager in the continual improvement of processes and systems.
  • Manage the process for Corrective and Preventive Actions.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through relationship, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.
  • Report customer satisfaction data to top management.
  • Lead or assist, as applicable, root cause investigations ensuring true root causes are identified. Implement and verify corrective actions and their effectiveness.
  • Oversee the functioning and maintenance of departmental equipment, measurement instruments, and infrastructure to ensure product and process quality and quantity objectives are met.
  • Ensure all dept. employees work safely and all hazardous conditions are eliminated.
  • Ensure statutory, regulatory and environmental regulations are met within the department.
  • Interpret Company's quality policies and communicate to others in the organization. Ensure cross departmental communication is accurate and effective.
  • Perform supplier audits as necessary.
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


  • * Leadership to effectively manage customer requirements and expectations.
  • Ability to motivate and encourage department personnel.
  • Skilled at identifying and driving priorities to subordinates to positively effect department performance
  • Demonstrated teamwork to work collaboratively with all departments to effectively accomplish company goals in the areas of quality, delivery, finance, and continuous improvement.
  • Broad in-depth knowledge of quality control, quality assurance and quality management systems.
  • Problem-solving skills to assist in root cause analysis and solution identification.
  • Skilled at resolving internal and external quality issues.
  • Ability to lead a quality audit team.
  • Advanced computer and writing skills. Skilled in the use of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project Management and Analytics software.
  • Ability to read, understand and explain schematics, blueprints and/or technical manuals.
  • Effective communication skills to present ideas and establish report.


Education and Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science preferred.
  • Five Years quality experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Three years' supervisory experience
  • AS9100 or ISO9000 Quality Management System experience preferred
