Estimating Engineer

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Read and understand contract plan documents to perform quantity takeoffs.
• Review project specifications to understand the method of measurement and payment for work activities.
• Proficient in take-off software programs and develop detailed spreadsheets to summarize quantities.
• Perform job duties accurately and timely to meet project due dates.
• Present your work to the estimating team utilizing reports and maps.
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience, Education & Skills

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Computer Science from a recognized accredited program; or equivalent experience.
• Ability to comprehend plans, specifications, and soils report for Civil Engineering Construction.
• Background in plan quantity takeoff for earthwork, underground utilities, and structures.
• Knowledge of bidding process.
• Agtek 4D Earthwork for Civil Engineering construction takeoff.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel, Bluebeam and/or On-Screen Takeoff.
• Able to train others to utilize the above-mentioned software.
• Possess ability to review and address technical issues with solutions in a timely manner.
• Works well in-group environment, encourages individuals at all organizational levels, and fosters a team approach.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Well organized.

Working Conditions

• Location - This position will be based out of our Pacific Office in Corona, CA.
• Office Environment - extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally.
• Salary Range: $65,000 to $75,000 annually.
