The Apogee Performance Surfaces segment has grown from $100M to $200M in revenue through a recent acquisition. Position Summary

The Coating Line Technical Lead is responsible for ensuring the safe, high-quality, and productive operation of the Coating Line manufacturing processes and equipment. This role serves as the driving force behind the team's success, providing leadership that fosters collaboration and cultivates a culture of continuous improvement and ownership. The Tech Lead demonstrates a high level of attention to detail, ensuring precision and accuracy in every aspect of the operation. With strong problem-solving skills, the Tech Lead tackles complex issues and finds effective solutions. Additionally, the Tech Lead is knowledgeable in all line positions to aid implementing ongoing improvements in both the process and equipment, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the operation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure personal and team safety by following safety procedures and protocols.
• Maintain compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and ensure team adherence.
• Ensure that all process and product quality standards are met or exceeded by performing routine quality checks and following all quality processes.
• Lead the execution of line testing, calibrations, and recipe verifications.
• Perform audits to ensure cleanliness and organization standards.
• Plan, organize, and support the team in executing daily and weekly production work.
• Coordinate with the team to adjust work assignments as needed for optimal productivity.
• Own every aspect of the Coating Line, from process execution to final product delivery.
• Develop, maintain, and update operational procedures (SOPs) to reflect current best practices.
• Lead team efforts in continuous improvement, fostering a culture of learning and process enhancement.
• Assist with the development of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) as needed
• Interface with Maintenance to submit and follow up on work orders to ensure repairs and maintenance activities are completed effectively.
• Update the Problem Log and GEMBA board daily to provide transparent tracking of issues.
• Help tag downtime events in SCADA, facilitate experiments, and track the results on test sheets.
• Participate in cross departmental collaboration

Personal Attributes and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and safety awareness.
• Basic computer knowledge and navigation abilities.
• Willingness to cross-train across multiple units (router, shear, packing, handling).
• Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Experience with coating application, E-Beam curing, and quality control strongly preferred.

Work Environment

May involve standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods. Flexible shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on operational needs.
