Work Shift:

Salary Exempt (United States of America) The Assistant Plant Manager - AHC will support the Sparta Plant Manager. This role is accountable for leading the daily operations in Sparta's manufacturing facility. The leader in this role will also be responsible for developing, communicating and deploying effective production manufacturing strategies and processes that enable achievement of safety, financial, production, and employment goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing management within the plastics industry, with excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.

1. Operational Support:

o Assist the Plant Manager in planning, organizing, and overseeing the manufacturing processes.

o Ensure production targets are met in terms of quality, quantity, and cost.

o Identify, develop and implement production metrics and KPIs to identify areas for improvement.

o Obtain updates from managers on plant machinery and ensuring any approved repairs and upgrades are being executed in a thorough and timely manner.

2. Team Management:

o Establish clear performance and behavioral expectations for all direct reports.

o Provide active and positive leadership in the effort to drive the cultural across the Sparta Plant.

o Assist in recruiting, training, and developing employees to ensure a skilled and motivated workforce.

o Deliver effective change leadership, driving business changes while minimizing people impact.

o Manage shift schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels.

3. Quality Assurance:

o Ensure that products meet industry standards and customer specifications.

o Collaborate with the Quality team to implement and maintain quality control procedures.

4. Safety and Compliance:

o Promote a safe working environment by enforcing safety regulations and conducting regular safety audits.

o Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations.

o Champion Integrity and Compliance while focusing on value creation with customers and key

o stakeholders.

5. Process Improvement:

o Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

o Support lean manufacturing initiatives and other process optimization projects.

o Foster an environment of continuous improvement that meets or exceeds expectations.

o Help drive the identification and elimination of losses resulting in improvements in costs, inventory, time and quality.

6. Inventory and Supply Chain:

o Assist in managing inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted production while minimizing excess stock.

o Coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components.

7. Reporting and Documentation:

o Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, including productivity, quality, and safety metrics.

o Maintain accurate records of production activities and other operational data.

  • Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing management role, preferably within the plastics industry.
* Previous Profit and Loss experience.
* Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
* Ability to work in a multi-shift environment within a large manufacturing facility.
* Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in manufacturing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
* Ability to collaborate across multiple functions inside and outside the plant.
