As a Flight Guidance Engineering Intern at Reliable Robotics, you will work alongside a team of mission-driven engineers with experience across aviation, space, robotics and self-driving cars to support our autonomous flight systems. You will contribute to the design, implementation, and testing of the guidance system, and your work will enable the integration of uncrewed aircraft into the National Airspace System.

Responsibilities
  • Design guidance system features that interface seamlessly with flight control systems and pilot displays
  • Implement flight guidance algorithms in flight software and validate in simulation
  • Build infrastructure for automated simulation and hardware-in-the-loop testing of guidance algorithms
  • Integrate and verify guidance system features in software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop test environments
  • Develop flight test plans and conduct post-test data review
Basic Success Criteria
  • Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in an undergraduate program in aerospace engineering, robotics engineering, software engineering, or similar field of study
  • A solid understanding of fundamentals -- engineering math, kinematics, and dynamics
  • Proficient in C++ and Python
  • Proactive and motivated to tackle hard problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Success Criteria
  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program in aerospace engineering, robotics engineering, software engineering, or similar advanced degree
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: motion planning, optimization, control theory, probability theory
  • Experience developing software for safety critical applications

The location of the position is in Mountain View, CA. No travel is required. The estimated annualized salary for this position is $120,000.
